Some thoughts on this model
We're excited to offer to the market this glorious Morgan Plus 4. Built in 1999, this Plus 4 has led a pampered life and offered in resplendent condition today.
The Model
The Plus 4 sat in the middle of the Morgan range, offering buyers a more lively and engaging driver over the base 4/4, it utilised a larger 2.0 variant of the Rover supplied engines which provided more power and more torque. Often thought of as the sweet spot of the range thanks to more power than the 4/4 but with out the additional weight from the V8 engine in the Plus 8, this made the Plus 4 the more tactile and engaging car to drive.
The Plus 4, as with all Morgans, was a coach built car, handmade in the Malvern hills of Worcestershire, where Morgans have been built in the same fashion since 1909 and continue to be today. Elegant in finish, the Morgan styling evokes a vintage car with styling cues borrowed from the 30's and 40's. The Plus 4 was actually launched in 1950 so celebrates 75 years in 2025, with the styling formula pretty consistent throughout its entire life span.
A Morgan Plus 4 is more than just a car, it's about time well spent and embarking upon adventures that just so happen to involve 4 wheels.
This Cars History
The history file on this car begins with its original invoice dated 26th February 1999 and it lists the many optional upgrades that the original owner (Mr Blake) specified on his car. Commissioning a Morgan is often a life goal for people so often they don't hold back when ticking options, Mr Blake was no different and specified his Morgan highly with the help of Life Motors Ltd, at the time the worlds oldest Morgan agent. Highlights include Chrome Wire Wheels, Walnut dashboard, Connolly leather upholstery, Sports seats and sound system. It was so well specified in fact that options had to be bunched together on the order form to make enough room for them all.
Mr Blake appears to be a fastidious owner and has kept every MOT and service invoice for the car over his 22 year ownership. He took the car to reknowned Morgan dealer Allon White annually for service and maintenance, with 18 invoices on file from them over his ownership before moving to Roade Main Garage for the last few services under his ownership. He then sold the car via Williams Automobiles, another well-regarded Morgan main dealer, who sold and serviced the car to its most recent owner. Since then it has been maintained by the owner himself, our workshop have checked the car and can confirm it has been well-maintained, we will of course service the car upon sale.
The most recent owner thoroughly enjoyed driving and using this Morgan with his wife, so much so that they decided to part-exchange it with us for a newer Plus Four, so very good to see they came back for more, clearly an enjoyable experience!
