Julien's Perspective

Some thoughts on this model

VLC 962M was a home market car delivered via Henly Ltd, NW1 in May 1974. The supporting heritage certificate states it was finished in Sapphire blue with black trim and hood with factory fitted equipment amounting to a heater, overdrive, seatbelts, black tonneau and a laminated windscreen. The only change from this spec of today, is the fitment of leather seats, a vast improvement over the original standard vinyl type.

This car is in lovely condition and has been both beautifully looked after and maintained...one look at the extensive history file will substantiate this. The previous owner has generously collated a comprehensive log of all works undertaken since 1988; a brief account of these are as follows:

• 1990: £3,000 spent on engine upgraded to a 150bhp by Northern TR Centre.
• 2003: £8,000 spent on major body and mechanical restoration by Roger Taylor Classic Cars.
• 2007-2010: £1,600 spent on brakes, shocks, fuel pump, clutch cylinder renewed.
• 2011: £14,000 spent with Crown Classic Cars Twickenham including, J Type Gearbox rebuild, unleaded conversion, engine fully balanced, new steering rack.

This TR6 has been refurbished and upgraded regardless of cost and at this price, represents one of the best examples available and with prices climbing steadily, a good investment too.

This car can be inspected in Guildford, viewing is by prior appointment - please call 07788 865700.
