Some thoughts on this model
Many of the manufacturers in period produced machines with enclosed fairings and this design penned by the legendary Ed Turner and Jack Wickes, was fondly referred to as the 'Bathtub', as it was intended for the professional fellow who wanted to keep the rain and dirt off the trousers and arrive at work looking 'spiffy'.
The 500 5TA introduced in 1959 was a bored out version of the 350 3TA, creating 490cc and claiming a credible 27 horsepower, versus the 350's 18.5 and was to remain in production and development until 1973.
This very handsome example is finished in its correct Amaranth Red and has its all metal Bathtub intact plus the front fairing, which can if desired be easily removed. This easy starting and sweet running Triumph is in lovely order, plus pleasingly has matching numbers and an original transferable registration number. Recently serviced and motd until December 2018.
An immensely rideable and collectable motorcycle in great condition which has been kept in first class order by a succession of responsible and mature owners. It would be a pleasure to answer any further questions you might have. This motorcycle can be inspected at my Guildford showroom - please call me directly 07788 865700.
