Every now and again a really good and visually interesting car comes along and without doubt, this Roll-Royce Shadow II is certainly such a car, insomuch, it doesn't conform to the often seen primary colour palates and short ownership stints that is often the case nowadays.

When I was offered the chance to view this car; gold and green, well I must say, my interest was certainly piqued and I'm sure a good number of you will also agree with me when I say, I think it looks absolutely fabulous.

A customer of Rolls-Royce agents, Lex Mead of Bristol, placed his order in June of 1979 for this desirable Shadow II.  I think he's choice of Highland Green over Willow Gold was inspired, and was complimented further with the dark green leather interior throughout.

In 'old money', this colour scheme would have been referred to as 'Top Hat'; a shame we don't utilise this 'noun' any longer as its certainly conjures up to me at least, a perfect visual treat.

The current long term ownership started in 1996 and sadly the only reason now for its appearance on our website now is 'Anno Domini'. This proud gentleman owner was very sad to see his faithful 'magic carpet' as he calls it, leave his garage for the last time.

He has lavish a huge amount of care, attention and money from day one, with early servicing entrusted to well known marque specialists Douglas Daniels & Healey Bros, before we took over the reins just over 24 years ago.

We have consistently seen the car, not quite annually but not far off. A full test & report plus a service was carried out just a few weeks ago prior being put on sale. Pleasing and not unsurprisingly, the new mot merited not one advisory !

When you contrast the joy of owner against the purchase and cost of a modern hatchback or indeed something from the ' darkside', (electrical) the price, carbon footprint and huge appeal of this Shadow become difficult to ignore.
