Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Cabriolet

1987

Porsche
Had it not been for the personal intervention of Ferry Porsche together with the then newly installed Chairman, Peter Sschutz in 1980, there had been a significant risk that the recently ousted Chairman Ernst Fuhrmann would not have sanctioned the new 911 Carrera production, instead favouring production of the 924, 944 and 928 models. Pleasingly with a single stoke of a pen Schutz authorised the production to continue and was noted as saying later, "The Porsche 911, the company icon, had been saved and I believe the company was saved with it"....we are all certainly thankful for his intervention.

Julien's Perspective

Some thoughts on this model

Another old friend returns to Guildford.

Having sold this superb 911 two and half years ago, its current keeper has kindly asked me to handle its sale once again. Given the crazy couple of years we have all endured, sadly only little mileage has been covered, but it remains in the exact same exemplary condition.

Pleasingly this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Cabriolet remains completely faithful to its original factory build specification. Finished in Silver Metallic (L980) with blue leather/white central inserts plus white piping, together with a unmarked blue soft top, the car looks visually stunning...the perfect 16' Fuchs forged alloys again enhance its road presence.

The blue electric hood is unmarked, plus there's even a wind deflector which is easily fitted should you wish to do so. It is nice to see still present original specified  Blaupunkt Toronto hifi and not some modern interpretation.

The accompanying two fully stamped (OPC) Official Porsche Service books endorses its already excellent pedigree further and, evidently along with MOTs, verifies the current low mileage of 52,000.

Incredibly it's been serviced on 32 previous occasions and it's just been to Porsche Guildford for a further service maintaining its full OPC record.

Further clues as this 911's elevated status is that the white coding sticker remains intact under the front bonnet, the carpets are indistinguishable from new, correct tools and compressor are present and from the looks of it, the spare tyre hasn't seen any use.

This must be one of the finest Cabriolets to enter the market in the last few years and comes with the original book pack in the correct wallet, including two  stamped service books, keys, service invoices and MOT certificates.

It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this car it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on 07788 865700 to arrange a viewing.
