Porsche 911 2.2S

1970

Porsche
This exemplary 1970 Porsche 911 offered here is one of the rare C-programme models with the 2.2-Litre engine, of which only 1,744 were produced, so small numbers indeed. It was the most powerful of the trio of road models available at the time, courtesy of its engine capacity being increased to 2195cc, plus re-profiled camshafts, larger valves and Bosch fuel injection, power rose to an impressive 180 bhp. Further mechanically enhancements saw the fitment of a larger clutch, special gear ratios and beefed up ventilated brakes, making it an impressively quick car. Certainly no slouch, reaching 0-60 mph in a tad over 7 seconds and ultimately on to a top speed of 144 mph.

Julien's Perspective

Some thoughts on this model

This exemplary 1970 Porsche 911 offered here is one of the rare C-programme models with the 2.2-Litre engine, of which only 1,744 were produced. It was the most powerful of the trio of models available at the time, courtesy of its engine capacity being increased to 2195cc, plus re-profiled camshafts, larger valves and Bosch fuel injection, power rose to an impressive 180 bhp.

Further mechanically enhancements saw the fitment of a larger clutch, special gear ratios and beefed up ventilated brakes, making it an impressively quick car, reaching 0-60 mph in a tad over 7 seconds and ultimately on to a top speed of 144 mph.

The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity clearly demonstrates that this #9110301147 remains matching and apart from the fitment now of Recaros opposed to original comfort spec seats, it's as it was built when supplied via Italian dealer 'Porsche Autocentro Balduina Roma', on 7th April 1970.

Finished in perfect Bahia Red (1313) this car was subject to a full ground up Concours restoration during 2014-15. I understand from the history file the first keeper was the Conte Thellung di Courtelary who's family's crest was predominantly red in colour, hence the exterior choice !

The accompanying photographic ledger & disc of its rebuild will satisfy the most ardent of Porsche enthusiasts, as will the fact that upon its arrival in the UK, it was purchased and then subsequently sold by the excellent chaps at Porsche Paragon. Importantly it sits on correct 15' Fuch wheels, retains its original alloy engine cover and has both its factory tools and jack.

This Porsche is beautifully presented and having last been serviced less than 800 miles ago by a Porsche specialist, it's immediately ready for use.

It would be a pleasure to answer any further questions you might have. This Porsche can be inspected at my Guildford showroom - please call me directly on 07788 865700.
