Some thoughts on this model
This lovely Mercedes Benz 280SL certainly reinforces the above statement, as it was bought as a 50th birthday present and remained with its same lady owner for over 30 years. Sadly with the passage of time the car has been used less and less, but importantly has always been garaged and beautifully kept.
The metallic petrol blue (Blue-Green 8770) paintwork is in excellent condition, whilst the Palomini (MB Tex) interior is virtually unblemished and testament to both the aforementioned Mercedes Benz period build quality and the fastidious last owner.
Although being the least powerful of the engine choices, the 2.8 liter DOHC inline six does a fantastic job of moving the roadster along plus its automatic transmission is tailor made for its touring characteristics and a whole lot more enjoyable to use than the alternative 5 speed manual.
The accompanying history and mots confirm the low mileage, plus there's a stamped service booklet too. The soft top and rear window are both pretty much perfect as is the unmarked hard top, ideal for the winter months. Original manuals and service booklet are all present together with tools and a factory wrapped first aid box.....recently serviced and motd so there is really nothing to do other than enjoy this lovely car.
It would be a pleasure to answer any further questions you might have. This Mercedes Benz can be inspected at my Guildford showroom - please call me on 07788 865700.
