Some thoughts on this model
Finished in Brilliant Silver with unmarked grey leather; as you can see there is a silver removable hard top and underneath an unblemished black mohair electric hood. The owners a good chum of mine, who until recently was a Jumbo Captain and as you would expect, likes his 'kit' to be in "first class" order and has always paid great attention to its upkeep....the 19 services stamps should give you some further comfort and the recent replacement of the front suspension spheres along with the back ones last year means the ride is as good as when new.
The keen eyed amongst you will notice the odometer is now digital; there is a Tony Purslow invoice on file detailing the change of the instrument cluster from analogue to digital back in 1998; pleasingly there is also every single MOT confirming the current mileage.
The quality of materials used in these W129 models were far superior to the next generation SL; the stainless steel sill plate is a good case in point, virtually unmarked after 24 years of use! Notably, there are no telephone holes drilled into the centre console, the car remains completely as it left the factory.
