Jaguar MK 10

1963

Jaguar
If you take 'www.how-many-left.com' as gospel, then there are only circa 50 of these wonderful Jaguar MK10s remaining and I doubt only a handful in this completely untouched & unrestored condition; I guess they are tucked away in long term ownership....much the same as this Jaguar has been, given its last keeper enjoyed it for nearly 30 years.....a fabulous find.

Julien's Perspective

Some thoughts on this model

Patination is certainly an over used 'noun' nowadays but accurately deployed here, as this MK 10 has never been restored, just continually and sympathetically maintained.

The previous 4 keepers have only managed on average to cover a handful of miles each year, so now only reading remarkably, a smidgen under 30,000 miles...there are both MOT and invoice trails to confirm this mileage.

The last owner who worked for John Coombs in period, only took a moment to say yes the last time I sold this remarkable Jaguar 2 years ago. During his ownership it's never required anything other than a new coil and routine servicing, but pleasingly he has treated it to a new set of correct tyres and a complete stainless exhaust.

The period and correct wallet and books are present along with a buff log book, rarely-seen maintenance chart and warranty card which confirms this Jaguar was supplied by 'Whipples Garage' of Grantham ! An extra treat is the perfectly preserved tool kit, which as you can see from the photograph, is correct and complete in every way. A further bonus is that 'WCT 200' is its original registration number and remains quite rightly with the car.

There is plenty of performance on tap from the 3.8 litre triple carburettor six cylinder which purrs perfectly along, belying both it age and size. An opportunity to purchase one of Jaguar's finest, endorsed by Sir William Lyon himself, as he used one as his daily driver !

It would be a pleasure to answer any further questions you might have. This Jaguar can be inspected at my Guildford showroom - please call me on 07788 865700.
