This is third time I've handle the sale of this very handsome and thoroughly prepared Jaguar E Type 4.2 Series 1.5 OTS which was originally supplied via Jaguar main agents, Henlys Ltd of London on 27 June 1968.

Some thoughts on this model

Certainly this is not your normal run of the mill 'E Type', as its been upgraded to fast road specification during a three year process when the car was dismantled, stripped back to the bare shell and all components checked to ensure the car was perfect, thus giving turn-key reliability.

Although this work was completed in 2013, this big 'Cat' remains in stunning 'as new' condition, with heroic performance and is without doubt the best E Type I have driven.  I first drove the car just after the work was complete and had forgotten just how exciting but equally comfortable it was. The suspension is extraordinary compliant, and the beautifully balanced and engineered engine is massively responsive and its performance simply breath taking. Equally, the gearbox, suspension and brakes are vastly superior to the norm, not to mention a quite wonderful howl from the big bore exhaust!

Certainly the Jaguar remains faithfully to William Lyons design, but upgrades from both Rob Beere and CKL have transformed it into a quite wonderful road car that inspires the driver and certainly ups their confidence, whilst leaving pretty much any other E Type standing! I have listed below the majority of the upgrades but they extend and are not limited to:


• Uprated Anti Roll Bar
• Uprated camshafts pipes
• Uprated mounts
• Stage 2 head with 1.8' inlet vales, fully gas-flowed with heavy-duty springs and matched inlet mainfold
• Uprated ITG air filter assembly
• Uprated oil pump
• Lightened and balanced flywheel
• Uprated fuel pump with Filter King regulator
• Fully mapped electronic ignition
• Sport coil and silicon head
• Rebuilt diff and uprated oil seals
• Uprated UJ drive shafts
• Quick steering rack
• Uprated 4 pot callipers with vented discs
• High output alternator
• Braided brake hoses
• Easy bleed rear hoses fitted
• Polybushed suspension
• 6 1/2 72 spoke Competition wheels
• 6 branch BIG bore exhaust with long manifold
• High torque starter motor
• Front and rear adjustable shocks with rear adjustable platform
• Uprated headlamps and stop lamps to aid higher visibility.

In the boot you will find some handmade fitted leather luggage, along with tools and a fitted car cover. With fully matching numbers, the car has a comprehensive history file including its original green log book, together with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, and a fresh MOT. If you are contemplating an E Type, this should without any doubt be on your short list.
