Certainly when looking at any Virage purchase, the vital element to consider is the all important commitment shown by previous keepers to running a V8. The Virage was the beneficiary of Aston's production cost curbing, by actively sourcing parts from other manufacturers; a questionable but necessary methodology for Aston Martin in period but clearly makes it easy to distinguish cars now that have not enjoyed continuous and correct upkeep.

So the car here is a 1990 Virage with the all import manual gearbox - finished in the gentlemanly shade of Buckingham Green with tan leather and dark green piping. Worthy of note, it was purchased from the Bonhams Aston Martin Works Sale by the last owner over 12 years ago....I was there and it was memorable, as it included the famous 'Hunter Green' Collection.

On file is a sheet detailing all previous owners, together with their ownership dates and miles driven; an interesting document that clearly shows the last owner covering the most miles (18,000) and the longest ownership. To date the odometer is reading a little under 52,000 miles.

The service history is beautifully presented in a Classic Folio file, plus there is a correct wallet/hand books and a stamped service booklet going back to day one - invoicing from RS Williams and Trinity Engineering alone tally just short of £80,000 since 2005, yet again clearly demonstrating the all important commitment to proper and professional upkeep. The next owner will benefit from a further annual service at RS Williams, which will be included in the sale.
